First of all, I’d like to thank-you for taking the time to be here, reading this.
Being a mother of two small children, I know how busy motherhood can be.
Welcome to your safe space
Somewhere to just be you.
Whoever the ‘you’ is behind the role of mother.
We mustn’t forget to look after ourselves.
We simply cannot give if we are too depleted in ourselves.
Revealing the reality of motherhood
I guess I’m fed up with all the narratives and stereotypes of modern-day motherhood.
I don’t fit any of them myself.
I wouldn’t describe myself in any way as a ‘go-getter mama’,or ‘a Mum-boss’ or any other term that gets banded about these days.
So, perpetuating the Super-Mum myth is something I most certainly don’t want to do. No one needs that extra pressure.
We don’t need to be having or doing it all.
It’s ok to just be.
It doesn’t make for an unsuccessful or unfulfilled life.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Ultimately, I hope the features on amamasmind.com will allow for some space to open up for you, as I hope it will continue to do so for me – to remind me to take more moments for myself.
Holistic wellness is all about honouring the multi-faceted individual, and respecting how wellness is itself entirely individual.
What works for one mother, won’t for another.
Wellness depends on many areas of our lives working positively to combine to a sense of good health.
It is this that I mostly hope that we can help you to explore.
So that you can discover your own sense of self and what makes and keeps you well, and feeling like you can handle the sometimes rough journey that is motherhood.
In doing so myself, I know that I can then offer my children the best mother that I can be.
Where I know that doing my best is enough. And that I am all the mama that they’ll ever need.
And where I am 100% me and happy to be so. Taking the good and the bad. Accepting my reality. Owning my story.
Please join me on the incredible adventure that is motherhood.
Let’s reclaim it as our own.
