Were you lucky enough to get a shower this morning?
Whether it was a quick 2-minute rinse or a lovely 10-minute pamper session, the shower is the ultimate sorter-outer of foggy heads and achy bodies first thing in the morning.
How about taking it one step further: by way of a shower meditation?
The technique literally consists of focusing on the sensations of the water running over the skin. The breath in the body. In. And out.
If it helps, one can choose to visualise the stresses and strains of life, and any worries, washing off and away down the drain.
Often, though, there are things we women need or want to get done while we are in the shower: i.e. bodmin (the actual cleaning and perhaps, de-fuzzing, of our bodies.)
And because we are always trying to achieve as much space for being still and present, we’ve come up with our list of absolute go-to products that will make a healthy shower-life balance simpler:
Once the Bodmin has been achieved, or even if there isn’t the time for any of that, and it’s just to rinse the day (or night) away.
Then try to take the opportunity for as much time breathing and centring the self under the running water as possible.
Extra zen can be achieved by using the moment to feel gratitude for the hot water, and minute of peace.
Sometimes this can be all the me-time a mama could ever hope for.
